This Great Blue Heron I shot just north of the Seattle Arboretum along a bank of backwaters of Lake Washington. It is likely my favorite photograph of a bird to date. It took 20 minutes on my hands and knees crawling under blackberries and in the mud to get and was worth every thorn. I was no more than 15ft away.
